Jarrah's Uplink
This is the third (or forth, depending
on how you look at it) version of this I did. The first
two were quite different, but I didn't like the perspective,
so I made another one... which nearly made me late for the
upload. Then I had a problem: I couldn't decide if I should
have a flashy bit in the middle of the bootgate or not.
I was tempted to make a .gif. but the down side was the
image was sodding huge. So, I put the flash-less version
up. But you can find the static
flash version and the animated
gif lurking behind these links
The following is useless background information.
If you're not into that kind of thing, just skip to the
comic link at the bottom.
Morrisey Waystation is one of many around
United Humanity space. It services passing ships with hydrogen
fuel skimmed from the gas giant you can see on the left,
foodstuffs grown in hydroponic vats on the station, and
occasionally sells shipments of raw materials mined from
the neighbouring moons by an automated mining system. The
station is home to just under 1000 people, mostly humans.
The round thing is called a Bootgate, and I'll explain all
about that in a week or three. Hey, I gotta give
you a reason to come back and read this, don't I?
Also, this is a bit of affirmative action
against the old trope that starships always have to be depicted
"right-side-up" in relation to the veiwers (unless
of course the ship is damaged, in which case it may list
to the side a little bit).

John's Uplink
Note from Jarrah: John didn't have
anything to say this week. I'll pester him for something
more lengthy next week. |
